On behalf of our private client, we are seeking a calm, engaging and well-rounded Governess for a family in the Cayman Islands with a 9-year-old child.
The role covers the morning routine and afternoon/evening, with a break in the middle of the day. The child is academically focused (must have experience supporting school-aged children academically and in extracurricular activities) and enjoy music, swimming, tennis and choral activities, so the ideal Governess will be enthusiastic about supporting a wide range of pursuits. Ideally the Governess should have experience in assisting children with preparation for 11+ and/or 13+ school entry.
The family require someone who is a confident driver and a competent swimmer, and who is happy to travel with the family.
Working Hours/Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 9 hours per day
- Morning shift: 6:45am – 10:00am
- Afternoon/evening shift: 1:15pm – 6:30pm
Duties include:
- Supporting the child's morning routine and preparing for the school day
- Assisting with academic work and educational activities
- Supporting and accompanying the child to music, swimming, tennis and choral activities
- Engaging the child in enriching, age-appropriate activities
- Providing a calm, structured and supportive presence throughout the day
- Driving the child to activities and appointments as required
- Supporting the family with household administrative tasks such as food shopping and general household shopping
- Diary management for the child
- Travelling with the family as needed
Package:
- Salary: £70,000 to £80,000 per year, tax free
- Accommodation support on arrival
- Private health insurance and pension provided
- Flights covered on relocation and relocation allowance
- Car provided for work (on personal purposed on weekend)
To Start: September/October 2026
Unless otherwise specified, a minimum of 2 years' relevant experience is required to receive the advertised rate of pay.
