Live-in Head Housekeeper/House Manager in Yorkshire

On behalf of our private client in Yorkshire, we are looking for a live-in head housekeeper/House manager for an eight-bedroom stately home.

The Principles live full-time in Europe but come over to the Yorkshire property for shoot weekends and occasional visits.

A management company manages the property when they are not in residence.

This is a great straightforward Head Housekeeping role. No cooking or serving required. When the family is in residence, they would employ a chef and butler. There is also a young housekeeper on the team to assist and to do some service.

The family are professional but relaxed. It is an 8 bedroom home over 3 floors. They do usually come over with 2 dogs (who are apparently delightful) and need no additional care or looking after.

Must be a driver.

Prior experience and responsible for keeping the House to a very high standard, caring for high end finishes and fabrics, laundry, ironing, house preparation, stock take, guest and general house management.

Be able to work as part of a team with ability to work autonomously, systematically and efficiently.

Trustworthy and discreet.

Prior experience of working on a country estate beneficial. There are no outbuildings to attend to. There is a gym area, but the other outbuildings are managed by the gardener who lives on site.

Reporting to a managing agent.

Working Days/Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am to 4.30pm Weekend cover/as and when required plus when principals are in residence.

Accommodation provided.

Salary: Generous package, dependant on experience.

Start Date: As soon as the right person is found

Minimum of 5 years relevant experience is required to receive the advertised rate of pay
