Description

Our private clients are seeking an experienced, hands-on Head Housekeeper for their private estate in Athens. This is a full-time, operational role suited to someone who takes pride in working as part of a team while leading standards across the household.The successful candidate will be actively involved in the daily cleaning, servicing, and organisation of the residence, ensuring the property is maintained to an exceptional standard at all times and is fully prepared for the principals and their guests.

Ideal candidate must be discreet, highly organised, physically fit, and confident leading a small household team while remaining fully hands-on. The role requires a proactive professional who is comfortable managing routines, people, and property with care and attention to detail.

Days of work/hours:

  • Working across various days Monday to Sunday, with a minimum of one full day off per week.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Responsible for the day-to-day cleanliness, presentation, and servicing of the residence, working hands-on as part of the household team
  • High-standard cleaning, laundry, linen care, wardrobe care, room preparation, and general servicing of the home
  • Ensuring the property is always ready for principals and guests, including structured deep cleaning during periods when the principals are away
  • Oversight of packing, arrivals, and departures
  • Supporting food service, shopping, errands, and household provisioning
  • Day-to-day care of the family dog, ensuring routines are followed, pet areas are kept clean and organised, and external providers are coordinated where required
  • Leading the household team through visible, hands-on involvement, setting and maintaining consistent standards
  • Preparing staff rotas and schedules, ensuring appropriate cover across Monday to Sunday operations
  • Training, supporting, and guiding staff in correct cleaning methods, product use, and service standards
  • Coordinating with maintenance, gardening, and other household services to ensure smooth day-to-day estate operations
  • Carrying out regular checks of the property, identifying issues early, and ensuring correct care of furnishings, finishes, and household assets
  • Providing light personal assistant support to the principals, including personal errands and day-to-day requests

Requirements:

  • Experience managing staff schedules and rotas
  • Ability to lead a small team while remaining fully operational
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • High level of discretion and professionalism

To start: ASAP (or by mutual agreement)

Salary : €2-3k euros net per month depending on experience

Unless otherwise specified a minimum of 2 years relevant experience is required to receive the advertised rate of pay.
