- Our private client in St Johns wood is looking for a Live-out Housekeeper to work (5) days per week, at their home in St Johns Wood.
As the family's housekeeper, you will be trustworthy, loyal hardworking individual able to look after the family's (6) bedroom household property during the day, and provide assistance with the children where required - aged (12) and (9) year olds - as well as to carry out the following housekeeping duties:
Housekeeping Duties:
Washing, ironing, folding and putting away clothes for the family
Cleaning, mopping, vacuuming floors and carpets
Cleaning the kitchen, including the oven and fridge as necessary; keeping the area tidy, washing dishes, putting the dishwasher on and unloading it, and emptying bins
Cleaning bathrooms
Making beds and keeping the bedrooms tidy
Occasional help with dinners or entertaining
Occasional house sitting when the family are away
Occasional cooking for the family
Seasonal deep cleaning as necessary
Running domestic errands
Grocery shopping, and restocking the pantry and kitchen
Dealing with tradesmen/paying bills as necessary
Dusting and polishing furniture, silver and glass
Childcare duties
Taking the children to and from school
Accompanying the children to activities, appointments, going to and hosting play dates
Making dinner for the children on occasion
Occasional evening babysitting
Packing overnight bags for weekends away and/or holidays
Occasionally accompanying the children to stay with family, including by train and if appropriate by car
Occasional overnight care of the children (agreed in advance) when the parents are away
Experience/skills/characteristics
Flexibility when required
Confidence in dealing with specialist fabrics and surfaces such as cashmere, silk, silver, wood etc
Relevant experience caring for children of a similar age in a private environment
A proactive and responsible attitude
Immaculate personal presentation and a positive attitude
Discretion and loyalty are essential
A strong work ethic and good time management skills
Strong communication skills and good command of the English language
A British passport is preferred but not essential
A clean UK Driving licence is preferred but not essential
Have a current DBS check, or willing to initiate a new one
Checkable references
Working day(s)/hour(s) and benefit(s)
Hours: 5 days per week, with occasional babysitting
Start time: 9am - 6pm
Flexibility: work outside of these hours might be required, flexibility is very important
Salary: between £30.000 and £35.000 depending of experience - Negotiable
Holiday: 20 paid working days, plus bank holidays (28 days total)
Unless otherwise specified a minimum of 2 years relevant experience is required to receive the advertised rate of pay.
