Travelling Housekeeper Worldwide

Our private clients are seeking a highly experienced Travelling Housekeeper to become their consistent presence across their homes internationally. This is a long-term position for a discreet and highly capable Housekeeper who is confident working independently and maintaining beautiful residences to an exceptional standard.

The couple have homes across Switzerland, New York, France, London, Italy and St. Thomas, and the successful candidate will travel with them throughout the year, ensuring each residence is beautifully maintained and the principals are well supported. 

Schedule: Monday–Friday (weekends off) Working hours will be flexible depending on the principals’ schedule with appropriate breaks always provided. When working alongside additional household staff, there may be opportunities for reduced hours or additional time off.

Annual travel schedule is approximately –

• Mid-December – early March: Switzerland (primary residence)
• Early March – early May: New York, including approximately two weeks in St. Thomas, USVI
• Early May – late June: London, including approximately two weeks in Carate Urio, Italy
• Late June – end July: France, with several days in Paris
• Early August – early September: Switzerland (primary residence)
• Early September – mid-October: London
• Mid-October – mid-December: New York

Duties will include –

• Taking responsibility for the day-to-day upkeep and presentation of the Principals' residences
• Full housekeeping, including cleaning, laundry, ironing and wardrobe care
• Preparing simple, fresh and healthy home-cooked meals for the Principals
• Mediterranean-style cooking, predominantly fish with fresh salads and vegetables, alongside homemade soups and other light, nutritious dishes
• Shopping, running errands and managing household supplies
• Simple, informal service
• Managing your own workload and ensuring each residence is maintained to the expected standard
• Ad hoc support wherever required

The ideal candidate will be –A highly experienced private Housekeeper (5+ years in private formal residences) who is switched-on, independent and capable of managing themselves without close supervision. They will be warm and personable whilst remaining discreet and respectful of professional boundaries and the principals’ private space. A dynamic individual without dependents/ commitments who genuinely enjoys travelling, takes pride in their work and is happy to become the consistent presence across multiple residences is essential.

Requirements

• Extensive high-end private household experience
• Confident driver with a clean driving record
• Excellent housekeeping, laundry and ironing skills
• Confident preparing fresh, healthy home-style meals
• Right to work in Europe (plus ideally right to work in UK)
• Must be eligible to obtain the necessary US work visa – the Principals will assist with this process
• Highly discreet, polished and professionally presented

Accommodation: Provided in all locations. In Switzerland and France, the Housekeeper will have a private apartment; in the other residences, a private ensuite bedroom within the property will be provided.

Start date: ASAP

Salary:  Starting from €65,000 gross per annum (negotiable depending on experience and suitability) 

Unless otherwise specified a minimum of 3 years relevant experience is required to receive the advertised rate of pay
