Live-out Head Housekeeper in Greece

Our private clients are seeking an experienced, hands-on Housekeeper to join their private estate in Athens. The successful candidate will initially join the household team as an equal, becoming fully immersed in the day-to-day housekeeping before progressing to Head Housekeeper after approximately 3–6 months.

The role will then involve leading the housekeeping team alongside the House Manager, implementing and improving systems and standards, whilst remaining very hands-on and leading by example.

Schedule: When the Principal is in Athens, the household operates 6 days per week, with three rotating shifts shared between the housekeeping team on a weekly basis:

• 08:00–14:00
• 11:00–19:00
• 12:00–20:30

When the Principal is away from Athens, the team moves to a reduced maintenance schedule of approximately 1–2 days per week, 09:00–15:00. The Principal is in Greece for approximately 6–7 months of the year. Flexibility is required to work across the different shifts as part of the team.

Duties will include –

• Hands-on housekeeping, cleaning, laundry, ironing, linen and wardrobe care
• Preparing the residence for the Principals and guests
• Deep cleaning and detailed property preparation when the family are away
• Light cooking and table service
• Assessing and improving existing housekeeping processes and systems
• Progressing to lead and manage the housekeeping team, including rotas and schedules
• Training and supporting staff and maintaining consistently high standards
• Leading by example whilst remaining fully operational and hands-on
• Coordinating with maintenance, gardening and other household services
• Monitoring the condition and presentation of the property, furnishings and finishes
• Supporting arrivals, departures, packing and unpacking
• Assisting with shopping, errands and provisioning
• Day-to-day care of the family dog
• Providing very occasional light PA support to the Principals 
• Very occasional travel to the family's London residence 

The ideal candidate will be –
An experienced, hands-on Housekeeper with the confidence and ability to progress into a Head Housekeeper position. The successful candidate will be highly organised, discreet, proactive and comfortable leading a team whilst remaining very involved in the practical housekeeping. A background as a Steward/Stewardess would be advantageous. Flexibility, excellent attention to detail and a genuine willingness to get stuck in are essential.

Start date ASAP / by mutual agreement

Salary €2,500 net per month

Unless otherwise specified a minimum of 3 years relevant experience is required to receive the advertised rate of pay
