Live-out French-speaking Housekeeper in Cheserex, Switzerland

On behalf of our private client, we are looking for a professional and experienced French speaking Housekeeper to join a lovely private household based in Cheserex, Switzerland.

The family resides in a beautiful property in the countryside and is looking for a dynamic, positive, and active individual to work as part of a small, dedicated team. The role involves shared responsibilities for general housekeeping and laundry, ensuring the home is maintained to the highest standards at all times.

The ideal candidate will be discreet, well-presented, organised, and meticulous, with previous experience in a luxury private household or five-star hospitality environment. The person should enjoy working collaboratively with others while maintaining a constructive and efficient attitude. A team player who is kind, honest, resilient, and capable of following established procedures while also showing initiative and attention to detail will thrive in this role. 

Fluency in French is essential; knowledge of English and/or Italian would be an advantage. The candidate should be comfortable around animals (dogs and cats), with a willingness to care for them when needed. 

Working hours/schedule:

Days of work: Monday to Friday

Hours: 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM or 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Duties include:

Housekeeping:

• General cleaning and maintenance of all rooms and living areas
• Dusting, vacuuming, and polishing of delicate materials and silverware
• Window cleaning
• Supervising service providers (florists, deliveries, etc.)
• Managing household inventory and supplies

Laundry and Wardrobe Care:

• Washing and care of clothing and household linens, including delicate items
• Impeccable ironing and steaming of garments and fine textiles
• Coordinating with external dry-cleaning services
• Organising wardrobes and maintaining the dressing rooms
• Shoe cleaning and polishing
• Basic sewing and clothing repairs

Additional Responsibilities:

• Setting up and serving breakfast for the family on a rotating basis with other staff members
• Welcoming and assisting guests (both professional and private), including preparing meeting rooms and guest bedrooms
• Adjusting daily tasks and routines according to the family’s schedule and requirements 

Requirements:

• EU or Swiss passport, or valid Swiss work/residence permit
• Driving licence and own car (property is not accessible by public transport)

Salary: CHF 5.7k gross per month (negotiable depending on experience), paid 13 times per year.

Benefits: 5 weeks of holiday and a uniform will be provided.

Start Date: As soon as possible
