On behalf of our HNW professional clients, we are seeking a professional Head of Household/Butler with with a passion for excellence in service.
This is a prestigious opportunity to become an integral part of a growing and distinguished household.
This dynamic, busy couple have deep US and Italian roots and have recently relocated to a magnificent pair of adjacent chalets in the Bernese Oberland.
The estate boasts two exquisite chalets that serve as both a luxurious residential area and a sophisticated office space.
You will be responsible for full management of both chalets. You will oversee and manage a dedicated team of staff members, including housekeepers, a chef, and a gardener, ensuring seamless daily operations and impeccable service standards.
Your role will be pivotal in maintaining the smooth running of the household, working in close collaboration with the couple’s multiple Swiss and US-based Executive and Personal Assistants to coordinate all aspects of their business, personal and travel agendas.
This is a unique chance to showcase your skills in a serene yet dynamic environment, ensuring every aspect of the household reflects the highest standards of care and precision.
Duties include (but not limited to):
- Responsible for all house management & housekeeping duties: including full staff management, scheduling and rotas, ensuring household staff maintain the highest standards at all times.
- Responsible for: the silverware, turndown service at night, receiving guests, running errands, organizing, mail-post-delivery & fetching, grocery shopping, scheduling deliveries, pet care, driving Principals to airport/meetings.
- Table management: includes setting tables and serving meals, serving skills, service styles, table manners, making coffee, and serving wines.
- Laundry and Wardrobe management: knowledge of linens and fine fabric care, clothing maintenance, ironing & pressing, dry-cleaning, and also ordering clothes and product knowledge.
- Cooking: basic knowledge of hygiene and quality control, if needed being able to assist the chef.
- Valeting skills: purchasing and taking care of clothing and shoes, maintaining inventories, and packing and unpacking suitcases.
- Pet Care: the ability to take care of four small dogs.
Requirements & key skills:
- Experience and knowledge of the profession of a butler
- Experience in working in a private household
- A friendly and calm character, but always having a professional attitude
- Able to navigate in high-pressure situations with composure and grace
- Able to organize and run the household
- A person wishing to invest in a long-term relationship
- English is mandatory and German (and/or Italian) would be a plus
- European passport required
- Discretion and respect for privacy

Salary: Approximately CHF 120—150k gross per annum (DOE).
Unless otherwise specified a minimum of 2 years relevant experience is required to receive the advertised rate of pay
