- Description
- One of our private clients residing in Switzerland is looking for a Travelling House Manager/Buter to oversee their private household staff in Switzerland, London & New York.
The ideal House Manager/Butler will have previous 5 years’ experience in a similar environment, have excellent command of the English language plus a second language such as Spanish, Italian, German etc, must be discreet and trustworthy, have good attention to detail, flexible, ability to travel without restrictions, possess very good written and oral communication skills, have excellent word processing IT skills, must be able to travel without passport restrictions internationally, a clean driver’s license.
Schedule: 5.5 days per week, full flexibility needed based around the family’s needs.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Driving
- Taking care of the cars, taking to service as required
- Packing and unpacking
- Knowledge of laundry and delicate materials required
- Responsible for ensuring the cars are clean personally when needed on site
- Service for dinner alongside chef, ensuring the kitchen is cleaned after and house closed for the evening
- Table setting both formal & informal service and ideally knowledge of floral arrangements and decor
- Preparing staff daily and weekly schedules
- Monitoring housekeepers daily
- Recruiting staff as needed in house, train staff on cleaning procedures & etiquette
- Monitoring inventories and ordering as required
- Keeping detailed accounts (reporting)
- Dealing with contractors, plumbers, gardeners’ electricians etc

Salary:negotiable, approx. £60k per annum
