One of our private clients based in Geneva are looking for a Live-in Head Gardener to join their Home.

The Head Gardener will be responsible for a large, recently planted garden, which needs to be developed into a mature and complete garden. The candidate will have relevant education and qualifications for the job.

Extensive experience in and thorough understanding of the English country garden style is a must. On the back of such experience, the candidate is expected to bring a vision for the medium- and long-term development of the garden, as well as a high level of consistency and detailed planning with regards to execution.

More specifically, the Head Gardener will have deep knowledge and experience to develop and maintain the kitchen garden, the picking garden and the rose garden.Driving Licence needed, as well as a hands-on and a muck-in attitude.Affinity with animals is a must as the family has two dogs and will have chicken in the near future.
The position comes with the responsibility to manage a team of two gardeners (1.5 fte) that are currently responsible.

A basic level of French is required.

Weekend care of the dogs will be requested from time to time.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Overall upkeep of the garden
Care of the kitchen, picking and rose garden
Planting
Pruning
Lawn mowing
Managing a team

Full-time Live-in position

Accommodation: separate cottage on the grounds (please note no partner, pets or dependants)

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

Unless otherwise specified a minimum of 2 years relevant experience is required to receive the advertised rate of pay
