- On behalf of our private clients in Kensington we are looking for a discreet and hardworking live-in Housekeeper/cook. This is a full-time role in a VIP household for a family of 5.
There is also a team of nannies and a part-time cleaner so you should work well as part of a team.
Accommodation: own bedroom and bathroom with a TV and air conditioning
Working days/hours: Six days a week, 12-14 hours/day with 2-3 hours rest
Salary: £370-650 per week depending on working hours and the candidate’s skill, experience, qualification
Extra hour: £10-12 per additional hour
Extra day: £80-100 per additional day
Dress Code: uniforms will be provided by the Employer; there will be day-to-day uniforms and uniforms to be worn for more formal occasions such as dinner parties
Holidays: statutory 28 days (including Bank Holidays) paid; holidays to be flexible, and to be agreed with employer
This role is to start at the end of March 2021
Duties include:
- Maintaining the 6 bedroom house to high standards
- Looking after the conditions of the house, organizing and tidying up to a high standard, including managing third party service providers in charge of maintenance and repair
- Managing (ordering and organizing) groceries and house supplies
- Cooking dinner and serving family daily, cleaning and tidying up after meals
- Help with packing and unpacking
- Taking in deliveries
- Organising dry cleaning
- Running errands
- High standards of cleaning, vacuuming, dusting including care of marble and wooden surfaces, high standards of laundry and ironing including care of delicate fabrics, hand washing and wardrobe management
- Polished, kind, organized, and observe good manners and etiquette at all times
- Fluent in English with Italian and/or Spanish a plus
- Flexible to work the occasional evening and weekend (baby sitting or dinner party) for extra compensation
- UK or European passport; driving license a plus
- Possess or is willing to obtain an up to date DBS check
- Available to travel with family for holidays, love for travel important
- Highly confidential and private individuals
- Takes initiative to ensure household runs incredibly smoothly
