- Live-in Couple in West Sussex Live-in Couple required for our Private client to work in a property based near Pulborough, West Sussex The position is permanent, live-in, full time The family visit predominantly at weekends therefore the working week consists of working the weekends and taking Tuesday and Wednesday off during the week. The family do, however, travel abroad frequently and at these times you may take the weekends off and work during the week. The Housekeeper will be responsible for the general cleaning, laundry, ironing including sheets and table linen, and flower arranging for the family and guests. The Houseman will take care of the light maintenance of all systems, pool maintenance and deal with contractors for these, some window cleaning and regular car cleaning, and assist the 3 full time gardeners if required. There is a small kitchen garden, with fruit trees and an orchard. Computer literacy is essential, and the house computer is a Mac. One of the couple must be an experienced cook and the cooking style required is light and modern, although traditional English cooking is also required including knowledge of game cooking where plucking would be a plus. This person should do the shopping. The other person should know how to lay the table and serve at all meals. It is also required that the cook be able to produce occasional meals to dinner party standard and between them serve for up to 12 people, and outdoor family BBQs. A car will be provided with this position for work errands, however the successful couple must have their own car for personal use. The accommodation provided is a 2 bedroom self contained flat adjoining the main house with a private entrance and garaging. The family have requested non smokers and prefer no children or dogs, however cats may be considered. Salary negotiable depending upon experience.
