- Our private client is looking to recruit a live-in House Manager for a position based in Heveningham, Suffolk.
This private household based on a private 4,500 acre country estate (two hours from London). Hidden deep in northern Suffolk, a country of gentle valleys and ancient farmland!
The Role:
The role requires a House Manager who is committed to deliver exceptionally high standards and will motivate a team to provide a seamless and professional service.
You will be expected to get involved in all aspects of the running of a private home. You will work alongside 2 Housekeepers to ensure the Hall is kept to extremely high standards. You will prepare meals, oversee the day to day running of the hall, liaise with the Estate team for any maintenance issues and generally prepare the Hall for when the family arrive (weekends).
You will also work closely alongside the family to successfully run a variety of events (from private formal dining occasions to local community events).
This role is ideal for a person with few personal commitments, as you will be working most weekends to accommodate the needs of the family. You will be a kind hearted and professional individual who can support the family in their everyday needs.
Day to day Responsibilities:" Managing the organisation of regular business/ private events at the house" Co-ordination and supervision of caterers and/or the private chef, serving staff and any additional external staff for large events" Management of menus, co-ordinating wines and hiring of equipment required for events" Management and on-going training of household & catering staff, as applicable" Direct liaison and coordination with contractor for attendance and service - florist, gardener, window cleaners, utility providers, engineers etc" Manage budgets, minor bill paying, petty cash" Seamless running of the day to day functioning of the house" Day to day purchasing of supplies, coordinating deliveries and controlling access to the house" Handle household deliveries and post
